Ian Jeremiah

Ian's first wheel build was way back in 1988 with Shimano XT on Mavic M6 rims, and he's been building wheels ever since. Ian built wheels for Gold Tec in the late 1990's giving him plenty of practice which was important to him for perfecting his wheel-building skills. He later built wheels for elite riders including Luke Rowe when he was a junior at the Paris Roubaix. Ian states " I just enjoy building wheels - it gives you a sense of pride" and this is what we love to hear from our wheel builders!

Ian is a world-class performance mechanic and was a mechanic at the 2012 Olympics for the Para athletes team, with the Cardiff shop providing four other mechanics to World-Class Performance level.

As the leading Cardiff bike shop, Cyclopaedia have always had a good mix of experienced cyclists working within who enjoy riding off-road and on-road. The team cover a wonderful mix of disciplines from Cyclocross, Mountain biking XC, Downhill, Enduro, Road Racing, Time trials and Triathlon, Track on indoor velodromes and always ride for fun with touring bikes, BMX, and Dirt jump being a big part of the shops DNA.

They enjoy building your typical bike wheels but also service and wheel build for their wheelchair customers with a wide variety of specifications over the years, and with more customers now using Ebikes, there are new challenges on equipment with greater demands on wheels, meaning they have to be built correctly with Ian's customary precision and passion creating wheels that perform higher and last for longer.
